Olympic Rant

Feel free to skip this post if you are enjoying NBC's coverage of the Olympics.

I am a little bit disenchanted with NBC's coverage of Olympics this year. 3 Reasons:
  • Interest stories. Yes they are interesting, but they are taking time away from the sports coverage. You should post them online next to the persons profile. I don't care that Shawn White had a private half pipe made that he has to Helicopter into. I do want to see His Sweet Snowboard moves though.
  • Chattyness. I feel like Bob is trying to take up time. Like There is a guy back stage pointing to his watch freaking out beacuse they have nothing to put on. Bob in the plane for 5 min was so stupid! It was not funny or mildly intiresting just a waste of time.
  • Coverage. We know it is not live so please don't foreshadow and hint at what is going to happen! Most everyone at home does not know how the race turns out. Also make your website more user friendly! It is a P.O.S, especially if you want to watch the whole event. I never know what I am going to get when I click on the video.
Anyways, I LOVE watching the best on the world compete. (that judge may get beat up by the whole country of Korea. Man how tough is it to be that guy!) It is a great sporting Showcase and it always makes me want to try new sports. I am thinking about cross country skiing.

It is funny how my sporting desire has changed. I remember watching the jumping and ice skating and downhill and wanting to do that when I was younger.
Gosh, in a few years Curling will be more my speed...

Chatty Cathy

Our poor child. He's snorting all over the place. He caught the sinus thing Justin and I had. Thankfully he has not had it as bad as either of us. He also has been sleeping a lot. (and hopefully getting better) But, when he is not sleeping, or snorting, he is happy and "talking" I am in love with that!! He has become quite the chatty Cathy. He is most frequently chatty after I change his diaper. He also gets chatty when he is irritated or uncomfortable. So funny to hear that cute sad little voice complaining about something...

Exercise and Shots

Exercise:I am feeling good today. I have been walking all week. I feel super healthy, and feel like I look better now as well. My arms are looking more toned. I am really looking forward to fitting into my sire 13 pants again. I went through my clothes with Eliza and Jolene last Friday. It felt good to get some things out and also to get rid of things. It is almost like a new wardrobe! I am also excited because I am feeling ready to run. Saturday I am planning on heading to the indoor track and tring to run at least a mile. Hopefully I can do more.
Shots: Yesterday we had Felix's 2 month appointment. He is doing well, 11 pounds and 23 inches long now! The poor kid he is so happy and trusting, so we laid him down on the table to get his vaccinations, he was all smiles. He got the oral vaccination and took it fine didn't try and spit it out. He even smiled at the nurse. Than came the shots. He was so shocked and very scared. He turned bright red and cried like I have never heard him cry before. Then afterwards he held me like he never had before. I was so happy that Chris came with me to the appointment. He really needed someone with him in the back seat of the car. He held my hand so tightly. It was hard to see him in pain. Poor kid, he loves to kick and it hurts every time he does right now.

Valentines Day

I like Valentines Day.
As a kid you got candy and cookies. As a teen and young adult, there were dates and hanging out with friends. I have always tried to view this holiday as a celebration of love, not a reason to focus on being single. (way to depressing) So I try and do things for the people I love. Here is what I did this year.
  • Got dafodills, a cute card some Lindt chocolates and vegetable seeds for Justin.
  • Made a rose centerpiece out of paper and tree branches. (thank you Julie for posting the idea on your blog, they turned out super cute!)
  • Helped my brother pick out flowers and chocolate for his girlfriend.
  • Made a mediteranian dinner for Justin and the family. And we tried 2 new cheeses. Fontina and Myzritha. Both very good!
My husband is not one to feel obligated to give presents because "someone" says he should. So no, I did not get flowers and chocolate.
But, before he left for his track meet last weekend he did get me a special something: Absolution, Dookie, Kid A, and The Creek Drank the Cradle. 4 totally awesome Records!!!!!! I have to say Absolution and Kid A sound amazing! Really sometimes records just sound so much better than CD's. And Records beet Chocolate and Flowers any day! I am a very lucky girl, my husband knows what I like.
I got Felix a Valentines Shirt, but it was too big for him...
He would have looked so cute in it on Sunday. Oh well he will just have to look cute in it another day.

LA Perm

Last night we went to Petsmart to pick up litter for the rats. We always like too look at the different animals that are there when we go. they had a puppy training class going on with some huge puppy's they were super cute. they had a couple of rats that looked like Macbeth but with a tan coloring instead of grey. We also looked at the cats they had. Some super cute ones. I can see why you just can't have one cat :) But my favorite by far was the LA perm. She had a very very tight curl on her back, her legs, head were a little less tight. and her tail was my favorite, a bottle brush, tight curls all the way down and a big poof at the end! She also was black and orange. Justin said she looked silly, but she was so friendly and unique I just wanted to take her home with me.
I didn't. (my dad thanks me) But I had no Idea this was a breed of cat. I thought it was a made up breed until I checked out wikipedia.

What I have been up to

Well Today was fun. I have been HATING how my closet looks. Completely stuffed and messy. So, today Janell watched the baby while I put clothes away and cleaned things up. I got rid of all of my pregnant clothes. (don't worry I am keeping them, I am just keeping them not in my closet) And, I made a huge pile of stuff to give to Emma, Eliza, DI, or who ever wants them. Now things fit and I am super excited to take out and store all of my winter things. And maybe just maybe in the next 3 months if I have lost a few inches. Then I can open up my suitcase and take out some new old clothes to wear! (that day will be a fun adventure) Surprisingly this project was super fast. So tomorrow I am thinking about going through the baby's clothes or cleaning out the bathroom.
Oh also the baby is sleeping through the night!!!!! He has been for a week now. His mother is very, very happy. His father wishes he would start sleeping earlier, like 8 or 9 o'clock instead of 11 or 12 o'clock. I just pray he never grows out of his lucky Pajamas. I don't know if I could handle going back to waking up every 2 or 3 hours.

1 more reason...

I do not like Twilight. The movie killed ANY slight curiosity I had about the series.
I keep finding out more things about the books through Good Reads Trivia.
Which does not help my negative feelings about the series.

I found out today that Bella reads Wuthering Heights repeatedly throughout Eclipse.
Gag me with a spoon!

I know many of you enjoy the series and find it to be fun. That is cool with me.
I am sure many of the books I read are just as silly and pointless.

Onions

We went to Outback for dinner on Saturday night with Justin's family. It was a lot of fun to visit and reconnect our friendships. The food was good. I really liked the bread they served on the tables. A nice dark bread. we also ordered a blooming onion. I love Onion rings. They are soooo good. And this was like one huge onion ring! By far my favorite thing I ate. I don't know if I will eat there again. Since there big thing is stakes, and Neither Justin or I like stake. Also, I need to avoid onions.
They are not good for me. Yes they are ultra greasy and fried. But wow, they do a number on my tummy. I will have to remember that next time I want onion rings.

I will just have to settle for Animal Style fries. Those don't effect me as much.

Oooh man I want those right now..........

Work, and driving my brothers car

So, I am back at work. It is a little weird being back. But I am enjoying it. Don't get me wrong I miss Justin and our child. But It is nice to not have to be feeding, changing, or playing with someone. Thankfully I work nights now. Which means that I get Fridays off! And, it is much slower at night. I am also working on my first posters since I have been back. They are great! Just like making big scrapbook pages.
The crappy part about working is I feel like just when I am getting things done at the house I have to get ready and go to work. But that is how it is.
I just remember that it could be much worse. I could be at Provo Craft!
I love my job!

So yesterday I drove my brothers car around for a while. My back has been a little bit more sore since having the baby. No big deal. Well driving that car almost killed me this morning. I was fine last night until 3 this morning when the baby woke up to eat. My back was a little sore getting out of bed, but Wham as soon as I bent over to pick up the baby a huge wave of pain washed over me. I knew that was not good. But I was like ok, I can get through this maybe it just tweaked my back when I bent over. Nope. It hurt the whole time the baby was eating and I couldn't bend over to put him back in his bed. (thankfully I remembered that I could squat a few min. later... my brain does not work well that early in the morning) After bouncing the baby to sleep. I laid on the floor and stretched out my back WOW it hurt so bad to lie on the floor. After a few min. I thought I could get up and go back to bed. Well Justin was nice and rubbed my back for a bit. Oh it felt so nice. And then I knew I needed pain killers. I considered raiding my brothers pain killer for his broken collar bone, but decided to take Ib profin instead. Thankfully it worked and I slept. My back was still a little tight today, but with the help of Rodney Yee, and a hot shower, my back is now only a little sore. Hopefully tomorrow with some more yoga and sleep It will be better.
I don't think I will be driving my brothers car anytime soon.
