Vacation Fun!

We spent 5 days in Anaheim with my family. I had a lot of fun. Felix enjoyed watching all the kids and the bright colors and music.

We also spent a week in Hollister with the Tungates. Felix really enjoyed all the attention from his cousins.
Felix tried licking the pole every time we rode the carousel.
So cute! unfortunately when I tried to upload my pictures they all got deleted. I was sad. but thankfully everyone else took pictures!

Grandma and Grandpa Tungate with the Grandchildren. They really had a houseful that week. More pictures from our trip to come!

What I have been up to lately

Here is a list of what I have been up to:
  • My brother got home from his mission a few weeks ago, so there has been a lot of hanging out and fun stuff going on with that.
  • I also have been working on getting registered for school in the fall. I know, amazing after so many years on not wanting to, and just not caring about it. I am finally going to do it. It feels like a lot of hurry up and wait right now, but I am excited to get started.
  • Gardening! I need to go out and take pictures. We have soooo many squash coming up! P.S. if you burry your squash and pumpkins seeds will come up! Also, if you have dried beans and they get put into the garden they will also sprout and grow. We currently have the 7 bean stew package growing in one part of the garden. We have lots of flowers coming up. My favorite are the Islandic Poppies.
  • Dragon Ball Z. It is cheezy, but my senior year of high school I started watching it with my brothers after school. It recently started playing on nicktoons. And I am just loving it. My sister found a website with all the episodes on it. So I have been watching a lot of Drangon Ball, Z, Kai, and GT. Consequently the next few rats we get will be named Ratataz, Vegeta, Kakorat Piccilo...
  • Playing with our Baby. He is so cute! We started solid food. He is enjoying it sooo much. Justin and I have decided to make our own baby food. So far it is not to hard. Just boil whatever you want your child to eat. Blend it up in the blender with a little water and store what you are not using in ice cube form. (thanks for the great idea Melanie!)
  • Preparing for Summer vacation! Cutie Pants and I will be going to California for a few weeks. We will be going to Disneyland with my family for a few days!!! Then it is off to Hollister to visit Justin's family and have fun with them. It is only a few weeks away! I can't wait!!!!!!!
  • Training with Justin. I have been going to the track with Justin and running and doing drills and stuff with him. He has been very patient and good with me. I feel great, and hopefully will be able to fit into some of my old pants soon ;)
  • Justin has been going to school this summer. He is also preparing to go to India this spring semester. He has lots to read and a class to take. I am very excited for him. It is crazy, as soon as he told me about it I knew it was the right thing for our family. (the baby and I will not be going) He has promised to bring back spices and some fantastic recipes as well. I am very excited for him!!!
Well that is what we have been up to. More news and pictures to come soon!

Sherlock Holmes

OK, so a few weeks ago I saw the movie.
I actually really liked it.
I feel a little bad that I was so anti it.
(that does NOT mean I will see Avatar. I won't do it.)
I especially liked the story that they chose. I wish they had a different girl, (Rachel Mc Adams just seemed woody and not believable. which is sad because she is such a fun character.) but I would be happy with another movie.
If they do what I think they will do as a sequel it should be pretty awesome.
So, see it if you are looking for something entertaining and fun, and also clever.
Good Job Guy!

Favorite Chefs

I have been thinking lately about what Chefs have inspired me and made me want to innovate with my own food and taste and try new things.
Here is a quick list:
Alton Brown: I love the science that goes into Good Eats. It makes me think about why the food I make tastes so good. Also The show has made certain foods less scary and daunting, like Okra and Tamales.
Bobby Flay: I think every time I have watched him cook it has sounded delicious. I also really like Throw down, What a fun challenge for a chef. I remember the first time I saw him on Iron Chef Japan. Amazing! Also, I would love to eat at one of his restaurants. That would be soooo amazing!
Martin Yan : Yan can cook and so can you! He always made me feel good about myself every time I watched his show. I felt excited about food and it really got me interested in eastern cuisine.
Masaharu Morimoto: I just love his creativity and skill. Watching him on Iron chef Japan when I was young made me want to eat fish. My mouth would be watering by the end of an episode.
Giada De Laurentils: So many of the things on her show are so simpleand they taste good too. I love how passionate about food she is. She just makes me happy when I watch her show. And she has a sweet name!

Food is amazing. The older I get the more I love it!

Also, I love cooking with Justin. He always has great suggestions. He is the best sous chef I could ever have asked for!!!!

Who do you love to watch ? Who makes you want to cook?

Thank Heavens for the Food Network! I just hope the Cooking Channel is as good.
